VIX increase ahead?

The VIX has been increadibly reseliant in recent weeks closing yesterday at16.59 even amid all the turmoil in the world. The Dow dropped more than100 points this morning after Alcoa reported disapointing earnings to kickoff the season and Japan's nuclear threat level was increased.

Is this the start of the increased volatility I have been anticipating? Wewill have to wait and see.
